Pamela D. Panzenbeck secured re-election as mayor of Glen Cove, earning a third term with 51.75 percent of the vote. She received a total of 3,812 votes across the Republican and Conservative party lines.
Her opponent, Marsha Silverman, who ran on the Democratic and Moderate party lines, garnered 2,934 votes, or 43.42 percent. With all 18 precincts reporting, a total of 6,756 ballots were cast in the mayoral contest.
“I’m very glad the people have recognized my efforts,” Panzenbeck said during her election night gathering at the Knights of Columbus in Glen Cove. “I’m happy to keep that momentum going.”
Panzenbeck, a Republican and lifelong resident of Glen Cove, previously taught business and computer education in public schools for 34 years. Before winning her first mayoral race in 2021, she served three terms on the City Council.
Her campaign focused on maintaining fiscal stability, upgrading city facilities, and advancing infrastructure and public space projects that benefited the community.
Voters also chose six members for the City Council from a large candidate field. With all precincts reporting, Democratic candidates Danielle Fugazy Scagliola, John Frank Zozzaro, and John L. Perrone led the results, followed by their Republican rivals. Fugazy Scagliola received the highest total of 3,583 votes, representing 9.37 percent of the 38,236 ballots cast for council candidates.
