Police Targeted by Firework-Wielding Youths
Police have condemned 'absolutely unacceptable' behaviour after a group of up to 30 youths targeted them with fireworks in Preston city centre.
Officers were responding to reports that the group had been aiming rockets at members of the public and their properties. However, upon arrival, the youths began targeting the police instead.
According to Lancashire Constabulary, around 25 fireworks were aimed at their vehicles, with some exploding within arm's reach.
As a result, patrols have been increased in the affected areas.
