Drone Attacks Escalate Between Russia and Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched 135 strike drones overnight, targeting energy infrastructure across multiple regions. At least eight people were injured in the Dnipro region during attacks on the city of Kamianske, where a residential building and railway infrastructure were damaged.

“It was another turbulent night for Ukraine. The Russians attacked our cities with drones – a total of 135 strike UAVs,” Zelenskyy said on Telegram.

Ukraine’s Defence Ministry stated its air defence units intercepted or suppressed 108 of the drones launched from Russian regions such as Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Despite these efforts, 27 drones hit 13 different locations across the country.

“Air defence shot down 108 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country,” the ministry said.

Civilian Casualty in Volgograd

Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov confirmed that a civilian was killed by shrapnel when a drone struck a residential building. The attack caused damage to balconies and windows, and debris ignited a fire in an industrial zone.

“As a result of a terrorist drone attack, balconies were damaged and windows shattered. A civilian was killed,” Bocharov said.
