Investigators are examining video footage showing two vehicles that unexpectedly met in Nea Artaki, north of Halkida. They then drove together to Halkida’s central square, where Olympiakos supporters allegedly blocked the road.
The ensuing fight involved fists, kicks, and knives. Marios Roumpis, 20, died from a stab wound to the heart. Two others, one from each group, suffered minor injuries.
A friend of Roumpis drove him to the hospital, left him outside, and left before speaking to police.
The case is ongoing with authorities continuing the investigation.
