The University of South Carolina Upstate and Sherman College of Chiropractic have established a partnership to provide chiropractic care to Spartan student-athletes and offer clinical training for Sherman interns.
Sherman College Chiropractic Center interns, supervised by Dr. Tomasello, associate professor of clinical sciences and Sherman’s Case Doctor for Sports Outreach, will visit USC Upstate regularly. They will deliver chiropractic treatments aimed at improving athlete function, increasing mobility, and aiding injury recovery.
The partnership agreement was signed by Sherman College President Dr. Jack Bourla and USC Upstate Chancellor Dr. Harris. This marks a significant collaboration between the two Spartanburg-based institutions.
“This partnership is a win-win,” said Dr. Jack Bourla, president of Sherman College. “Our interns gain valuable, hands-on experience working in a dynamic collegiate athletic environment, while USC Upstate’s student-athletes receive the benefits of regular chiropractic care to support their performance, recovery, and overall well-being.”
This partnership represents a practical synergy that advances both educational opportunities for interns and health outcomes for student-athletes.
