Alison Steadman Shares Health Update After Fall

Alison Steadman is recovering after a "terrible" fall earlier this year. The actress, known for playing Pam Shipman in Gavin & Stacey, tripped on uneven concrete at a restaurant and had difficulty walking.

At the time, she was visiting Dubai and briefly needed a wheelchair during her recovery. Now, she has shared an update on her progress.

“That fall was just terrible, shocking – it was an awful time. I’ve got to have another operation on my foot soon, to take the metal screws out of it.”

Speaking to the Mirror, Alison added,

“But I’ve finally just stopped using a stick, which is great – I am walking again, hurrah!”

The 79-year-old previously expressed how lucky she felt that the accident wasn’t more serious. She told the Daily Star,

“I knew when I fell that it was serious. If I’d banged my head the way I banged my foot, I promise you, I would not be here. Every time I get fed up, I say that to myself. The important thing is that I’m alive.”

Recent Work

Steadman recently reprised her role as Sue Jessop in the acclaimed BBC sitcom Here We Go. The third series aired over the summer and helped increase the show’s iPlayer ratings by 70% compared to the previous series.

Summary: Alison Steadman is steadily recovering from a severe fall earlier this year, now walking unaided and preparing for a follow-up foot surgery.
