This week, the Clarksburg I-270 boys junior basketball team received an unexpected boost when Paige Bueckers, WNBA Rookie of the Year and former UConn standout, stepped in as coach on Wednesday evening.

Bob Bueckers, an assistant coach for the team, was absent due to illness and called on his daughter Paige for support. Paige was visiting the area to watch UConn's game in Annapolis.
Paige’s younger brother, Drew, plays on the team, adding a personal touch to her coaching appearance. The Bueckers family, who moved to Clarksburg about five years ago, have been actively involved in the local basketball scene.
Bueckers quickly became one of the league’s brightest young stars with her standout performance.
