Cebu Pacific Partners with SOS Children’s Village Cebu

Cebu Pacific strengthens its commitment to community support by collaborating with SOS Children’s Village Cebu to regularly donate food for children and families in their care.

Details of the Partnership

Under this partnership, Cebu Pacific donates surplus pastries from its Mactan catering facility. SOS Cebu staff collect these donations weekly, providing between 100 to 300 pastries to 106 children and young adults enrolled in programs focused on education, family support, and holistic care.

“Supporting SOS Children’s Village Cebu is about more than giving food,” said Lei Apostol, CEB Vice President for Customer Service Operations. “It’s about helping children thrive while promoting sustainable practices. Even small acts, like turning surplus food into opportunities, can make a real difference.”

Corporate Social Responsibility and Food Waste Reduction

This initiative forms part of Cebu Pacific's corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, which aim to aid communities while reducing food waste.

Since 2017, the airline has been donating pastries to the Pangarap Foundation, which supports underserved youth. In 2024, Cebu Pacific expanded this commitment by partnering with Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) Philippines to formalize a program for donating surplus food.

Summary

Cebu Pacific’s partnership with SOS Children’s Village Cebu reflects its dedication to nurturing communities and reducing food waste through thoughtful donation initiatives.
