A 37-year-old woman from Den Helder broke a record on a breathalyzer test, blowing 1340 µg/l, equivalent to 2.9 per mille alcohol.
In the Netherlands, the legal limit is 0.5 per mille alcohol in the blood. The woman was pulled over by police on Molenstraat due to her driving behavior.
“Unfortunately, this is not a record to be proud of,”
said the police, noting that the incident occurred in the middle of the day.
“We sincerely wish her strength and success in working through her alcohol addiction,”
said the police, adding that they hope she doesn't drive again.
The woman now holds the record for the highest breathalyzer test result this year, and the police hope no one will try to break it.
