Sikorsky's unmanned U-HAWK is a modified UH-60L Black Hawk with the cockpit removed.
The U-HAWK is designed to carry more cargo while keeping aircrew out of harm's way. It features clamshell doors and a ramp, and is equipped with the company's MATRIX autonomous technology.
Company officials hope the U.S. and other militaries see the remotely piloted U-HAWK as a useful new variant of the venerable airframe.
The U-HAWK can be flown by a ground operator using a tablet, freeing up aircrew for other tasks.
