Can’t Win ‘Em All: Panthers Rally, But Lose First of Season to Flyers

Panthers Suffer First Loss of the Season

The Florida Panthers experienced their first defeat of the season, losing 5-2 to the Flyers. The Panthers, who were one of three teams to start 3-0 in the past 25 years after winning the Stanley Cup the previous season, trailed 2-0 late in the second period.

However, they managed to rally with a shorthanded goal from Sam Reinhart with 38 seconds remaining in the period. Sam Bennett then tied the game with a power play goal at 10:15 of the third period. Despite this, the Flyers secured their win with a pair of empty-net goals, including Sean Couturier's second goal with 4:10 remaining.

Goalies Dan Vladar and Daniil Tarasov had notable performances, with Vladar making 24 saves and Tarasov stopping 17 shots in his Florida debut.

The Panthers' rally came up short in a 5-2 loss to the Flyers.
