Olthof Funeral Home Closes After Almost 80 Years
Olthof Funeral Home in Southport has closed after nearly 80 years in business, as announced on their website and Facebook page.
The funeral home was founded in 1946 by Robert and Louise Smith Olthof.
To our Elmira community and all the families who have placed their trust in us since 1946, we extend our heartfelt thanks. It has been our privilege and honor to serve you through the generations.
In September 2020, the funeral home was sold to Rollings Funeral Service, Incorporated. At the time, Rollings expressed excitement to join the Elmira community and expand their presence in the region. Rollings currently operates 70 locations nationwide.
No reason was given for the closure.
