Snowmaking operations signal the countdown to ski season

Snowmaking Operations Begin

Ski resorts in Colorado, including A-Basin, Keystone, and Loveland, have started their snowmaking operations, signaling the countdown to the ski season.

Crews at these resorts work through early morning hours, sometimes even at night, to make snow. According to Keystone Resort communication manager Sarah McClear, these snowmakers are passionate about the ski and snowboard community.

Our snowmakers are people who are passionate about the ski and snowboard community. These are people who chase snow year-round.

They use digital monitors to measure wet-bulb temperature, which combines air temperature and humidity levels, to create the perfect conditions for snowmaking. The first round of snowmaking took place from Sunday night into Monday morning at Arapahoe Basin, Keystone Resort, and Loveland Ski Area.
