City of Farmington to Close Eastland Drive for Stormwater Maintenance

The City of Farmington Street Department will temporarily close a portion of Eastland Drive, starting in October, to replace an existing culvert between Industrial Drive and Timberline Drive.

The closure will enable the department to upgrade the stormwater system, which prevents street flooding during heavy rainfall. According to Public Works Director Larry Lacy, the work is expected to be completed within two to three days.

“We anticipate a two-to-three-day time frame for the work to be completed. This will allow the Street Department time to remove the old culvert and install a new one.”

During the closure, residents can detour onto Schwartz Road to access Highway 32. Lacy reminds residents that they can also help the stormwater system work efficiently by taking certain measures.
