A Spearfish woman, Nova Collins, 56, has been indicted on four felony counts and one misdemeanor count for falsifying investigative reports while working at the South Dakota Department of Social Services' Child Protective Services.
According to Attorney General Marty Jackley, the indictment was announced on Wednesday, October 15, and is related to a child abuse investigation. The crimes allegedly took place in early 2025.
"Falsifying official documents related to an investigation undermines public trust," said Attorney General Jackley. "As Attorney General, I will continue to hold individuals accountable for such crimes. Thank you to the Department of Social Services for its cooperation.
