International Champagne Day
Ahead of International Champagne Day on October 24, 2025, we recommend trying one of eight exceptional Champagnes. Sparkling wine is produced globally, but only one region can claim the name "Champagne".
The unique terroir of the Champagne region, particularly its chalky soils, combined with centuries of winemaking history, leaves a distinct imprint on the wine. This distinctive character is often imitated but never replicated.
Located about two-and-a-half hours' drive east of Paris, the Champagne appellation comprises five main subregions:
- Montagne de Reims
- Vallée de la Marne
- Côte des Blancs
- Côte de Sézanne
- Côte des Bar
Only sparkling wine made within Champagne can use the name.
