While fentanyl overdoses remain on the rise, Las Vegans team up to get Narcan training into neighborhood bars

Fentanyl Overdoses on the Rise in Las Vegas

Despite a reported 27% drop in overdose deaths in 2024 by the CDC, Nevada continues to experience an increase in overdoses, with 802 drug overdoses in Clark County last year, over 400 of which were attributed to fentanyl.

The Southern Nevada Health District reports a 699.8% surge in fentanyl-involved deaths in Clark County over the last six years, making it the leading cause of fatal overdoses.

Many people are only a few degrees of separation from knowing someone who’s died of a drug-related overdose or nearly has.

Community Response

In response to the crisis, Las Vegans are teaming up to provide Narcan training in neighborhood bars.
