Staffordshire Leader Reacts to "Squandered" Billions of Taxpayers' Money
The Leader of Staffordshire County Council, Ian Cooper, has expressed his disappointment regarding the excessive spending of taxpayers' money on asylum hotels.
"The squandering of millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money on costly hotels is nothing short of a disgrace.”
A report by the Home Affairs Committee revealed that "flawed contracts" and "incompetent delivery" led the Home Office to rely on hotels as a primary solution, rather than a temporary measure.
