Support for Furloughed Park Rangers in Utah
A community in Utah is showing support for furloughed park rangers during the federal government shutdown.
Recently, over 100 park rangers and community members gathered for a warm pasta dinner in Springdale, where they shared hugs and expressed gratitude.
The level of gratitude, the way that filled the room, was almost a spiritual experience to me.
Natalie Britt, CEO of Zion Forever Project, noted the emotional reunion, saying, "We saw a lot of emotion on a lot of people’s faces last night."
Utah has dedicated funds to keep national park visitor centers open during the shutdown, and the surrounding community is rallying behind the furloughed park rangers.
