Watervliet Man Charged with Rape of 15-Year-Old Girl

A 23-year-old man from Watervliet, Benjamin E. Randall, has been accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl.

According to Johnstown Police, the alleged crime occurred in the early morning hours of October. An officer on patrol discovered a vehicle parked in the St. Mary Family Health Center parking lot, where Randall and the teenager were found.

Investigations revealed that Randall had traveled to Johnstown to pick up the minor, and they had engaged in sexual activity. As a result, Randall was charged with rape, sexual misconduct, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Randall was arraigned in Johnstown City Court on Tuesday and was then turned over to the Ulster County Probation Department. Notably, he is currently on probation for 2024 charges of rape and criminal sex act.
