According to Fiji Law Society President, Wylie Clarke, there is a constant struggle in Fiji with upholding and respecting the rule of law, which he believes starts at the top.
He has lost count of the number of times that we talk about respecting and upholding the rule of law.
Clarke notes that public trust in social bodies, including the State, is often undermined by examples where leaders seem to disregard the rule of law, citing instances such as the suspension or dismissal of public officers, appointment of public officers, and decision-making processes.
The Fiji Law Society Convention 2025 was held in partnership with the Pasefika Lawyers Collective at the Crowne Plaza, Nadi.
