Vice President JD Vance pushed back against criticism of his interfaith marriage to Second Lady Usha Vance, who is Hindu.
A reporter, Ezra Levant, had tweeted:
“It’s weird to throw your wife’s religion under the bus, in public, for a moment’s acceptance by groypers.”Groypers are white nationalists and fans of far-right streamer Nick Fuentes.
Vance had earlier expressed hope that his wife would one day become Catholic at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi.
In response to Levant's tweet, Vance called it
“anti-Christian bigotry”.
