UNISON General Secretary Christina McAnea welcomed members from the south west to celebrate a major campaigning victory against outsourcing.
Members from Dorset, working across three NHS trusts, prevented the introduction of a subco that would have affected 1,700 facilities staff, including their terms and conditions, and pensions.
“Every time we’ve seen a subco, we’ve launched a campaign against it – and this was no different,”
This win is significant for porters, caterers, housekeepers, and other NHS facilities staff. Christina McAnea praised the campaign, saying
“Dorset’s victory is a brilliant example of how organising works”.
