Historic Bridge Hit by Oversized Trailer
The Robert Parker Coffin Bridge in Long Grove has been struck by a large trailer, marking at least the 69th time the bridge has been hit.
The incident occurred on Thursday at 10:50 p.m. and was partially caught on surveillance video by Neumann’s Cigars and More.
- The trailer scraped the bridge canopy.
- The driver stopped the vehicle and got out after the incident.
Previous incidents include a box truck hitting the bridge in June and another box truck belonging to Northwest Trucks Inc. hitting it on May 20.
No comment from authorities or truck drivers was available.
