San Antonio – This Halloween, Spurs forward Julian Champagnie swapped his basketball jersey for a Scooby-Doo costume to visit Methodist Children’s Hospital. Accompanied by the Spurs' mascot, Coyote, Champagnie surprised young patients by handing out candy, posing for photos, and sharing joyful moments.
The hospital celebrates Halloween with elaborate decorations and themed costumes worn by the staff, creating a festive atmosphere for its patients. This year featured a reverse trick-or-treating event, where hospital leadership personally visited rooms to deliver treats.
Adding to the special occasion, the Emergency Services Facility Dogs, Lady, Fresca, and Chanel, participated dressed as a surgeon, a witch, and a spider.
"I didn’t make a wish, but it felt like one. It was inspirational to see the actual walking dream. I didn’t think I was this special, but he made me feel like I was," said Jamal Magee, a patient. "I appreciate the hospital for giving me this opportunity. For him to stop by and show some love meant so much to me. It’s hard to describe."
Julian Champagnie's visit brought warmth and excitement, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to creating memorable experiences for its young patients.
