Tiger Woods is widely regarded as the greatest golfer ever, but British golf legend Luke Donald considers Rory McIlroy more talented. Donald, who competed regularly against Woods after joining the PGA Tour in 2002, had a close-up view of the 15-time major champion at his peak in the early 2000s.
Rory McIlroy, who turned professional in 2007, quickly made an impact in the golf world. Donald, now 47, praised McIlroy's potential and talent in a 2011 interview before the DP World Tour Championship.
"I've always said that of the guys I've played with out here on Tour, Rory has the most talent," said Donald. "He's young, he's got a great future ahead of him, and I see him winning lots of tournaments and lots of majors."
McIlroy, 36, also has a business connection with Woods as co-founders of Tomorrow's Golf League (TGL), highlighting their ongoing partnership beyond the course.
Luke Donald considers Rory McIlroy the most naturally gifted golfer he has competed against, even surpassing Tiger Woods' legendary talent.
