Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian called for civility at the Oct. 9 City Council meeting, where the future of the Wonderland Pier site was discussed.
Members of the city's business community attended the meeting to urge the council to reconsider its 6-1 vote in August, which refused to send the Planning Board a request to consider the site as an area in need of rehabilitation.
This decision led Eustace Mita, CEO of ICONA Resorts, to end his effort to build a 252-room luxury resort hotel complex, for which he was prepared to invest $150 million.
