Mount Pleasant Residents Request Speed Humps After Near-Miss Incident

A Mount Pleasant neighborhood is urging the Town Council to install speed humps on a road with a history of concerns.

Residents of the Oaks at Marsh View have been seeking speed humps on Mossy Branch Way for nearly four years. According to Sandy Quinqe, the homeowner's association president, drivers often use the road as a shortcut from Rifle Range Road to Ben Sawyer Boulevard.

Despite three traffic studies, no action has been taken. However, a recent close call has prompted neighbors to bring their requests directly to the town council. As resident Brittany Webb noted:

We had this horrible thing. Had we just gotten a speed bump that we'd been asking for, this could have slowed him down.

The residents hope that the town council will consider their plea and install speed humps to improve safety on the road.
