Colorado Election Officials React to Sudden Sale of Dominion Voting Systems
Colorado clerks are trying to calm fears of a 'MAGA takeover' of the state's election equipment supplier after the sudden sale of Dominion Voting Systems to a former Republican election official.
The new owner has given the company the name Liberty Vote, taking many county clerks by surprise, including Unaffiliated clerk Tiffany Lee from La Plata County.
“There was no notification to us that this was even a conversation at their level,”
said Lee, who found out about the sale through the media and Liberty Vote's press release.
“That's concerning to me that we didn't get any kind of information from them directly or Dominion,”
said Lee. Sixty of Colorado's 64 counties had contracts with Dominion for the technology they use to scan and count paper ballots.
