Rebecca Orwin Discusses Her Debut Novel
Rebecca Orwin's debut middle-grade novel, The Monsters at the End of the World, was acquired by Puffin in a six-figure deal.
“It didn’t feel very real,”
says Orwin, recalling the moment she landed the deal. Her novel, to be published in January, features black and white illustrations by Oriol Vidal.
Orwin, a lifelong book-lover, studied for a Masters in Creative Writing before pursuing her author dreams. She notes that success requires
“hard work, talent, but also that little bit of luck.”
The book is set in the isolated village of Seawaren, surrounded by poisoned land.
