The State of Alaska has started distributing disaster relief payments to residents of western Alaska affected by storm damage from ex-Typhoon Halong, with over $217,000 distributed as of Friday.
According to the Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the state has received more than 941 applications for individual assistance, with the application period open through November.
Federal aid has also been approved to support the affected residents.
