Hong Kong Tennis Open: Last China Players Exit
China's last two representatives, Zhang Shuai and Wang Yafan, lost in straight sets at the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open on Wednesday.
The top seed, Belinda Bencic, continued her climb into the world top 10 after being ranked "913 or something" a year ago.
- Zhang Shuai lost to Russia's Anna Kalinskaya 6-1, 6-1.
- Wang Yafan lost to Switzerland's Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-2.
"I felt good on the court," Bencic said. "I tried to play aggressively, tried to play my game, and it worked out well.
Bencic's victory marks her sixth win in a row, following her win at the Japan Open.
